Terms of Use
Last updated 11 October 2026 (version 2026-10-11b)
Draft. A licensed attorney reviews this before MILO opens to the public.
In short
- MILO is a tool your coach uses to program your training. Your coach, not MILO, writes your programs.
- Athletes must be 13 or older. Under 18, a parent or guardian agrees too. Coaches must be 18 or older.
- You own what you log. Coaches own the programs they write. Use them for your own training only.
- Payments go through Stripe to your coach. You can cancel any time and keep access until the end of the period you paid for.
Who we are
These Terms of Use are an agreement between you and BUILT BY MILO, LLC, a Florida limited liability company, which runs Built By Milo ("MILO", "we", "us"). They cover the MILO website and app. By ticking "I agree" you accept these terms and our Privacy policy.
If you are under 18, your parent or guardian must also agree to these terms for you. If you use MILO for a business (for example, as a coach), you also accept the Coach Agreement.
Who can use MILO
- Athletes must be at least 13 years old. Athletes under 18 need a parent or guardian to agree to these terms, the Liability Waiver, the Health and Medical Disclaimer and the Photo and Video Consent choice.
- Coaches must be at least 18 years old.
- One account per person. Give accurate information, especially your birth year and your parent or guardian's details.
- You can't use MILO if we have closed your account before, or if the law where you live doesn't allow it.
Your account
You sign in with your email. Keep access to that email safe: anyone who can read it can sign in as you. You are responsible for what happens in your account. Tell us straight away if you think someone else has used it.
What MILO is, and isn't
MILO is software. Coaches use it to build programs; athletes use it to log them. Coaches are independent: they are not MILO's employees or agents, and MILO does not choose, supervise or vouch for them. Your coach is responsible for the programs, videos and advice they give you.
MILO is not a medical service and doesn't give medical advice. Numbers MILO works out for you, such as estimated maxes and percentage loads, are estimates, not a promise that a weight is safe for you. Read the Health and Medical Disclaimer and the Liability Waiver.
Training is at your own risk
Strength training can cause injury. You choose whether and how hard to train, you check every load before you lift it, and you stop if something hurts. Logging pain in MILO tells your coach; it is not an emergency service. In an emergency, call 911 or your local emergency number.
Payments
- If your coach charges through MILO, you pay your coach. Your coach is the seller and sets the price and their refund terms. Payments are processed by Stripe.
- A subscription renews automatically until you cancel. You can cancel from your account page and keep access until the end of the period you paid for.
- Moving to a higher plan takes effect straight away and you pay the difference for the rest of the period. Moving to a lower plan takes effect at the end of the period.
- Ask your coach for refunds first. If you can't reach them, contact us.
- MILO keeps a platform fee from each payment. It doesn't change what you pay.
Your content
You own what you log and write in MILO: sets, scores, notes and replies. You give us permission to store it, copy it for backups, and show it to you and the coaches in the channels you join, only to run MILO. That permission ends when you delete your content or your account, except for copies in backups until they expire and records we must keep by law.
If you send us ideas or feedback, we may use them without paying you.
Coach content
Programs, exercises, videos and notes belong to the coach who made them, or to MILO for the Milo exercise library. You may use them for your own training while you have access. Don't copy, share, sell or publish them.
Fair use
- Don't break the law, harass, bully or threaten anyone, or post anything hateful, sexual, or that you don't have the right to share.
- Don't post anything about another person, including photos or videos, without their permission (and their parent or guardian's, if they are under 18).
- Don't try to get into other people's accounts or data, copy MILO's software, scrape it, or disrupt the service.
- Don't impersonate anyone or give false information about your age.
Suspension and closing your account
You can delete your account at any time from your account page. We can suspend or close an account that breaks these terms or puts others at risk. We'll tell you why unless the law or someone's safety stops us. We may also stop offering MILO; if we do, we'll give you notice and a chance to download your data.
Disclaimers
We work hard to keep MILO running and your data safe, but MILO is provided "as is" and "as available". To the extent the law allows, we don't promise that MILO will be uninterrupted, error free, or that any program will get you a particular result.
Limits on our liability
To the extent the law allows, MILO is not liable for indirect, incidental, special or consequential losses, lost profits or lost data, or for injuries from training (see the Liability Waiver). Our total liability to you for any claim is limited to the greater of what you paid MILO (not your coach) in the 12 months before the claim, or $100.
Nothing in these terms limits liability that the law doesn't allow us to limit, such as for fraud or gross negligence.
Disputes
If you have a problem, contact us first and we'll try to sort it out within 30 days. These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Florida, and any court case will be brought in the state or federal courts located in Florida, unless the law where you live gives you the right to bring it locally.
Changes
If we change these terms in a way that matters, we'll ask you to accept the new version in the app before you carry on. If you don't agree, you can stop using MILO and delete your account.
