Privacy policy

MILO (Built By Milo) is a strength-coaching app run by BUILT BY MILO, LLC, a Florida limited liability company ("we"). Coaches build programs, athletes log them, and both see the athlete get stronger. This page says what we collect, who sees it, and what you can do about it.

What we collect

• Your account: name, email, units (lb or kg) and timezone. Athletes also give their birth year, and a parent or guardian's email if they are under 18.
• Your training: the workouts you log, sets, reps, loads, times, scores, maxes, effort ratings, skip reasons and notes, including notes about pain.
• Coach content: channels, programs, exercises, videos and comments that coaches create.
• Agreements: which documents you accepted (Terms of Use, Coach Agreement, Liability Waiver, Health and Medical Disclaimer, Photo and Video Consent), which version, when, the name you typed to sign, and the internet address and browser you signed from. If a parent or guardian signs, their name, relationship and email too.
• Payments: if your coach charges through MILO, Stripe handles the card. We see the plan, the amount and whether it was paid or refunded, never your card number.
• Technical data: error reports so we can fix crashes, and usage counts (for example how many taps a workout took). These carry ids and numbers only, never your notes, name or birth year.

We collect nothing beyond what training needs. We don't sell your data and we don't show ads.

Who sees it

• You see everything about yourself.
• Your coaches see your profile and the training you log in their channel. A coach never sees what you log for another coach. They also see whether you (and a parent or guardian) have accepted the training agreements, and your photo and video answer, but not the internet address, browser or guardian's email.
• MILO staff can see accounts to give support and keep the service safe. Staff accounts need two-factor sign-in.
• Our service providers host and run MILO for us under contract: Supabase (database and sign-in), Stripe (payments), Sentry (error reports), PostHog (usage counts) and our email provider.

Athletes under 18

MILO is for athletes 13 and older. Under 18, a parent or legal guardian reads and accepts the Terms of Use, Liability Waiver and Health and Medical Disclaimer, and makes the photo and video choice, on the athlete's phone or through a link the athlete sends them. We keep their name and email so they can be reached about the account. A parent or guardian can ask us to see, download or delete their child's data at support@builtbymilo.com.

Keeping it safe

Your data is encrypted in transit and at rest. Notes about pain and effort are treated as sensitive: only you and your coaches can read them. Access rules are enforced in the database itself and tested automatically.

Your choices

• Change your name, units, timezone and guardian email on your account page.
• Download your data as one file from your account page, at any time.
• Delete your account from your account page. Your account and all your training are deleted straight away. Copies in our backups are removed as those backups expire. Programs your coach wrote stay with their channel. The record of the agreements you accepted is kept (see below).
• Change your photo and video answer on your account page at any time.
• If a coach removes you from their roster, your training history stays in your own account.

How long we keep it

We keep your data while your account exists, so your history and records are there when you come back. Payment records are kept as long as tax law requires. Records of the agreements you accepted are legal records: we keep them, with your email but without the link to your account, after you delete your account, for as long as a legal claim about your training could be brought.
